About me
I am Leena and I work currently as a project researcher at the University of Jyväskylä Kokkola University Consortium Chydenius but I will soon be joining the Software Engineering Doctoral Pilot Program at the University of Jyväskylä. My interests are in Machine learning and especially Deep learning and software development. I also enjoy programming web applications and working with databases.
Research
In my master’s thesis I studied millimeter wave radar sensor, deep learning and human activity recognition. I used a public database of human activity data and implemented a CNN (convolutional neural network) model that could classify several different human activities. I also studied how the model can be optimized, compressed and deployed to a resource constrained device so that the activity recognition and classification could be done directly in the device. This is where I am going to continue. My vision is to make a framework or a tool for a software developer to make useful applications with AI-powered constrained devices. My career as a researcher is just beginning but I am eager to learn new things.
